4 Weeks Old

The babies are 4 weeks old today!  It has been so much fun having them home.  We are enjoying every moment of being together.  Here are some pictures taken over the last couple of weeks.

Babies are HOME!

I have been trying to update the blog for days now!  Where does the time go?  So to catch you all up, babies did well at the hospital and got to come home Tuesday.  It has been so much fun having them here.  It's even nicer not to have to make trips to the hospital to see them.  Mommy spent the weekend at the hospital with the babies and they proved they could eat well enough to come home, so here they are!

5 Days Old

Here's an update on our precious babies.  They are both off CPAP and breathing well on their own.  The doctors were worried about a possible infection because Mom's placenta tested positive for group-beta strep (that darn bacteria!).  But as of this morning, lab values are normal and there are no signs of infection in either baby.  They have been getting antibiotics just in case.  They have been moved to the "feeder-grower" side of the NICU which means they just need to learn how to eat and grow!  All in all, they are both doing fantastic.  Prayers are being answered and miracles are being witnessed.  It probably won't be too much longer until they are home with us.  Maybe a week, maybe two, but when they do come home, they will be pros at eating.  As for Reanna, she is doing better every day.  It was kind of a rough hospital stay and recovering from a C-section without narcotics to handle the pain has been a struggle.  But she is doing well and is able to get to the hospital twice a day to feed the babies.  Speaking of which, tonight both Samuel and Hazel nursed and did well!  Thank you all for your continued prayers and support.

Happy Birthday!

The babies are here!  Samuel and Hazel were born on 11/13/11.  He was 5lb 9oz and 19 inches long.  She was 5lb 0oz and 18 inches long.  Being in the NICU has been stressful for us, but they are improving.
I look soooo cool!

Just before they were born

The swelling is because he just got off the CPAP
